City of Rocks

A couple weekends ago the weather was beautiful so we drove out to City of Rocks.  We have lived here for 3 years and this was our first time going out there as a family.  Dallin and I had been there before we lived here, but this was a first since the move.  It was so pretty, everybody enjoyed the ride and the views were amazing.



 These were the outfits the boys sported.  We thought they were adorable and they kept the hats on pretty well!

Not related to the city of rocks, but James has now discovered how to open our doors....we're in trouble!

Biking injuries

Alex learned how to ride his bike on Easter Sunday.  He has had no problem learning how to ride.  He had one little bobble the first day of trying and since that day has been crazy on the bike.  Within the week he was riding past the house like a mad man with his feet up on the handle bars.  He has had no fear, unfortunately though he has had many injuries.

On Saturday afternoon I could hear him outside crying to Dallin about a shock wire.  Well come to find out he had been riding his bike and the gate was open to the horse pasture at the end of our road.  He went in there and while riding was clotheslined by an electric wire.  It caught him right on the neck.  It was horrible.  I don't like to imagine what could have happened, but luckily he just has a pretty good mark on his neck and some bruises on his arm.



 This was his learning curve on turning.  He didn't quite make the turn and hit the curb.  His thigh landed on the pedal. 

Somehow he keeps getting on the bike.  I know as a kid I wasn't this brave.  He's been really enjoying his bike this spring.

Easter

We had a great Easter this year.  Dallin's parents were able to come up and visit for the weekend which is always a special treat.   Our dishwasher went out on Friday evening, so we spent the weekend eating off paper plates and doing dishes.  Probably not the idea they had in mind of a relaxing weekend.  They also babysat the kids for us so we were able to go to a movie and dinner.  That is something we haven't done in a really long time.  I don't like to pay a babysitter for those types of nights and usually reserve babysitters for temple night, so this felt like a special night for sure!  Thanks Ned and Beverly!

 Alex at the city Easter egg hunt.  I had warned him prior to it starting that there would be a lot of kids and you don't cry about not getting enough eggs.  Well sure enough there were a lot of kids and he only got 6 eggs.  It was just pure chaos with all the kids running.  He thought he was just supposed to run, so he would pick up an egg and then start running again instead of picking up all the eggs around him.  I think he was shocked that within 2 minutes the entire thing was over.  He was brave though and didn't cry, he was happy to get what he got.

 Sunday morning the Easter bunny made it to our house.  Alex actually has no clue about the easter bunny.  He saw me purchase most of the stuff in his basket and we told him it was from us.  We never mentioned a bunny.  He was spoiled!

The babies birthday

James and Miles turned one on March 4.  It was actually a really bad day in our world unfortunately.  To sum it up, it was Sunday.  Sundays are so hard for me right now.  Dallin has to work every other one so I am alone.  This happened to be the Sunday he worked, so I was alone.  The babies are at a really hard age to enjoy church.  We made it through church and we were invited to a luncheon for a family that blessed their baby that day.  I was not going to go after having wrestled three children all morning, but decided it may help my mood so off we went.  It actually helped a lot because there were people there to help and I didn't sit at home alone.  Anyways, that passed a couple hours at least.  My mom came that night and Dallin came home around 8:00, so the party was to say the least anti-climatic.  The babies were past their point of tired and nobody was happy.  Hopefully we made up for it later, but their actual birthday was a bummer.  I did make these sesame street cupcakes that looked horrible, but they didn't know it.

I sort of felt like I should be the one getting a party:)  I survived the first year with twins.  It was tough, but a great year!

Disneyland

We went to Disneyland in February.  We drove down to Utah and dropped the twins off at grandma and grandpa's house, then we drove all day Thursday to California.  It was really hard to leave the babies, but they wouldn't have enjoyed it at all.  This trip was for Alex.  He will be starting kindergarten this coming year so we took advantage of his last year with no school schedules.  A huge thank you to Grandma and Grandpa for allowing us to do this.  We know it wasn't easy to keep the twins.

We stayed four nights and did three days of Disneyland!  It was definitely a whirlwind trip that went by way too fast, but it was so fun!  Alex did great, he basically jogged through the park with three adults as we jetted to and from rides.  My little brother came with us, so it made a great team that could separate and do kid stuff or adult stuff, it was a great trip.

We're shocked that Alex was okay standing next to this storm trooper.  He doesn't really like the characters, but this was such a fast picture I don't think he had time to realize he was scared, plus Jess was standing with him.

I packed a lunch every night for the next day, it saved us a ton of money, but this is what our food looked like by lunch time.  Pretty sad!

I nearly peed my pants with this picture.  People probably thought we were so poor!  Our food all tasted great even in odd shapes.

We had such a fun trip!  Whenever I get home from Disneyland I always want to turn around and go back right a way.  These pictures definitely make me want to go back!  Disneyland will always be great!

Breaking the blog silence

Here are some random pictures to sort of bridge the gap on my blogging (or lack of). 

I couldn't tell what was in Miles hair one day, upon closer examination, it was James' spitup!

Alex taught family home evening with his props from Primary.  He was very proud of himself, and so were we.

Alex's only snowman this year.  Every time it would snow he would beg for a snowman, but we don't get much snow here and it doesn't stick around very long, so this day was the perfect day.  However we built the same snowman three times only to have it topple over minutes later.  At least this one lasted long enough for a picture!

We recently redid our TV room.  We let Alex play with the paint for a few minutes before we actually painted, it made him feel pretty special and of course he had to sign his name!

My mom bought the babies these hats and when we tried it on James, he posed like this for about 2 minutes straight.  I don't think he knew what to do with it.

The babies love their milk.  This lets us get a little bit of yard work done while they sip on their milk.  They drink a gallon of milk every 3 days.

Alex learned how to ride a bike on Easter!  Here he is so proud of himself and his dad for teaching him.

This is an old picture, but this is right after I got home from my exercise class all the boys woke up and we tried a quick snapshot.  I love how smashed James is!

Hopefully that catches us up a little.  I will post again with the babies birthday and our Disneyland trip soon!

It's been a while since I put some pictures on here, so there are quite a few!

 The crew right out of bed.  I love how Miles binky is upside down.  He is addicted to them and it is going to be a challenge to take them away.  He always finds them and puts them in upside down.

 Dallin's parents came and visited us this month.  They brought Alex's cousin Gavin.  We took them to a pumpkin patch, this is the best picture we got of them.  At least they were both looking at the camera right?

 Alex was a pirate this year for Halloween and when I came into the family room this is how I found Miles.  He didn't seem to mind.

 This was this past Sunday all ready for church.

 James had his first injury.  He fell face first on a spiral notebook.  This was a few hours after the incident.  It happened on Halloween, we could have made him a frankenstein really easy.
